What if my hard drive fails?

Historically, hard drive failures have been the Achilles’ heel of DVRs, but Comtrak’s DVRs eliminate this chronic problem. Comtrak saves you the expense, inconvenience and risk of losing months of valuable video if a hard drive fails by using hot-swappable RAID drives to provide a drive redundancy. The Comtrak DVR continues recording when a hard drive fails. The unit automatically notifies you of the failure so you can arrange for service at your convenience. Replacement drives can be ordered from Comtrak or kept on hand locally.

Repair is simple, and most importantly, your data stays online during each step. To repair the DVR, simply slide out the failed drive and slide in the new one. The DVR will automatically format and rebuild the new drive with no interruption in recording — and your data stays online.
